Running the GEV Working Holiday event on Children’s Day!
Written by: Jung Eun Hee (Irene)
On this children’s day, We ran our own event for children. We had prepared for a long time, using our class time and crew meeting.
After a morning meeting with all teachers, we prepared our booth. We printed posters, arranged tables and chairs, and moved materials which were needed for event. We decorated the booth with colorful balloons and put posters on an easel.
We operated “Pinata time”, “Candy pong” and “Mission time”!
Pinata time started first and children stood in a line waiting their turn.Children had a chance to hit the pinata twice. Whenever we started pinata time during the day, many people gathered to join this game. Everyone cheered every time the pinata broke down and candies poured out. Children were happier than we had expected so we had a one more pinata time in the end of the event at pm 5:30
Candy pong was the game that, if a ping-pong ball landed into a paper cup with candies, children could get them. At first, only children participated in this game but many people, including parents and even grandparents, enjoyed together! Whenever people missed by a centimeter, many spectators felt sorry for missing chance and supported how to throw well.
After we finished the events, we saw that we satisfied our goals of this event: Enjoyment, Innocence, Unique and Togetherness. We hope many children were happy with our event.
